As I recall a UP steam excursion killed some dumb arse trespasser several years ago as well.
The number of people around the tracks for these things is a bit disconcerting for the engineer. You're used to no one being around and as soon as you're running the Holiday Train or a steam excursion there's 500-1000 people lining the tracks as you wheel into town.
