We are the greatest country on earth and in history. I am truly thankful for all who died and fought to protect our rights. We have our flaws but are all truly blessed and owe our lives to those who died and fought for us.

My uncle was a waist gunner in a B-17. After being wounded, he continued to man his station scoring at least one kill. His plane was shot down over Holland. It's unclear if his parachute failed during bailout or if he had one at all. He is buried at the Maargraten American Cemetary. Fulfilling a bucket list item this fall by visiting his grave and paying my respects.

Went on a Normandy/Market Garden trip with one of my Marine buddies in 2019. We took a side jaunt to Verdun and Belleau Wood. I recommend everyone that can to visit the American National cemeteries in France. Humbling and inspirational.

I’d like to see equality and diversity in those numbers.

Chat GPT:
“The percentage of Caucasian American military deaths has varied by conflict, but historically, the majority of military deaths were Caucasian. For instance, during World War II, about 87% of the U.S. military deaths were Caucasian. In the Vietnam War, approximately 86.1% of the deaths were Caucasian soldiers. These percentages reflect the racial demographics of the U.S. military during those periods, which were predominantly white.”

America was at its best when men were men and women were women and everyone knew the difference.

It’s an awesome and humbling experience. Was there about 15 years ago and remember the towns still had banners up that read “welcome our liberators”. Gives you a sense of pride. Probably a marketing deal to get you to stop and shop, but they are very reverent nonetheless. A huge amount of respect for those GIs.

Those 8,000 women still deserve to be honored and valued regardless of how few of them there are compared to the men.

Every single life lost serving our country is valued.
