Keep all your "Band Maids" down there.
I bet the stench was overpowering when it was full of people and animals.
How are there not a bunch of skeletons?
Termite People.

Truly amazing. I didn't read the article yet, but I'm wondering about light (torches?) and ventilation.

Just shows you how much people got done before TV and the Internet. Without power tools no less.
If Tigerdroppings was around back then, article would say "man funds closet" behind wall.

The most amazing part of this story is that, according to the pictures, that ancient cave had power lights running all through it. And room labels in stereotypical Greek restaurant menu font.

I wonder if he gets to keep the Tunnel as a really cool and creepy doomsday cellar.

One of the photos has what looks like a grate in the floor? Assuming the grate is not that old.
Wonder how long one could survive there. The air must be pretty thin down there. Interesting though.
