If I’m a cop in 2020 america and I was called to a situation just like that one, I would just let it play out. There were no guns or deadly weapons being used and all of them were willing participants in the scuffle. Nobody was really abusing anyone else. I could live with police reform like that but I want the weak being protected from the stronger or abuse to be dealt with by a police force of some kind.

The observation that folks who are not of a specific race cannot empathize with the folks of that race is brought to mind here.
I have zero personal familial experience with this type of “active” behavior.
The closest example: One time I had a cousin who burped at the dinner table.
He was 18 months old at the time so we’ve pretty much all forgiven him now for it.
