At least you're comfortable in it. Some use that as an excuse to not work out because they're embarrassed. They work out less as a result. Bad cycle

Seems pretty simple then.

Just don't be fat.

It's a reflection on the Gym sales staff selling these fatties a bill of goods that exercise will make them slim and trim.

this is unfortunately all to true.

there's some dude who's been at my gym for the last 6 months and dropped some serious weight. i went up to congratulate him a few weeks ago. said he'd dropped 100 lbs. i could tell it meant something to him.

be nice to fat people that are actually trying.

True. Don't worry, the fatties will forget about their resolutions and be gone by mid February.

I actually like to see overweight people and small (thin/no muscularity whatsoever) dudes at the gym. I have a lot of respect for those people because we all had to start somewhere and I remember that feeling when I first started lifting regularly like 3-4 years ago.

I always offer to give a spot, or offer some advice in a non-dickhead way if they're lifting with f'd up form.

It takes a special kind of insecurity to hate on dudes who are just starting out and putting in the work. I'd say none of the dudes I regularly lift "with" ever clown on newbies. They usually like it when they get asked about form or tips on sets/reps. Especially if the guy is willing to learn. And a few of the guys I lift with are borderline retarded meatheads.

You may get some bad looks if you walk in as an obvious noob and act like a douche though

Although I don't think any would label me as 'no muscularity' more so lean muscle. 6'1" 175 isn't some bean pole

Actually a gym for fat people wouldn't be bad. You start out at the fat gym then if you make progress, you graduate to the next tier gym and so on. It would probably give people extra motivation.

That's actually what Planet Fitness is. It's a place for beginners or people that want to lift casually.

At least that's my understanding as I've heard they don't have heavy weights or squat racks.
