In the right neighborhood, he could charge 3x as much by telling the homeowners that he’s using responsibly-sourced paint.

So $50K/yr with no health insurance or 401K match? Could make more at Buccees.

Your math is horrible. Buccees surely wouldn’t hire your dumbass.

ETA: If he only averaged 5 a day M-F for 52 weeks that’s $130,000 you moron.

We have a Boy Scouts troop that comes through every year and paints them for free to earn their Art merit badge.

They have painted mine 10 times. Every 2 years.

Side hustles are something I never did as I was always too busy doing my own stuff. I think it is a great thing though.

One thing I didn’t see mentioned in some of the calculations is the impact of weather, i.e, rain/cold.

It’s amazing how lazy people can be. They’ll pay for anything.

There’s a service around me that charges an annual fee for putting a flag in your yard on holidays then coming and taking it down for you. I guess pushing a stick in the ground has gotten too difficult for people to do themselves.

Between weekends and holidays, you lose about 150 to 175 days a year of productivity at least in Texas. As a side hustle working in the evenings, it gets even more difficult the later in the day it becomes.

Recently started a "side hustle" welding pipe fence and decorative metal fences. It's hard work but pretty profitable but requires a decent investment to get started. If you work somewhat smart, you can remain busy on some of those bad weather days by working in a garage or shop. I usually weld gates in my garage on bad weather days. I actually had my first day where I welded in light rain the other day. Started off not raining, but I got down to my final two welds and it started pouring before I could get to them. Gotta make another trip. Unpacking the truck and getting geared up will take longer than the welding itself.

We had a young kid early 20’s come thru our neighborhood. He had started his own business mailbox painting , pressure washing . HOA sent email with contact said would be in neighborhood certain week for mailbox painting .

He had two others working with him. Painted ours in an hour $100.00 looked great.

The did just over 80 in a week. Along with other services I imagine it’s a decent living IMO
