Most overrated Christmas movie by far. Other than nostalgia by people who grew up in that era, the movie isn’t very good

I don't think there are a lot of people left who grew up in the 40s.

Yes. I was 8 and went with my sisters who were 10 and 11. Back in the day, your mom would drop you off at that age and would pick you up when she felt like it. You would get arrested for that shite today

We got picked up from school because of sleet when I was in 4th grade. It had just come out on video, and we ran by the local gas station to rent some movies in case we were out for a few days. I have loved the movie ever since. May have something to do with associating it with getting out of school.

This right here. Young me was too social for movies.

That was my first thought, but I remember that it was a football based movie that I desperately wanted to watch. However, I knew my sister would rat me out if I snuck in.

Ironically, I still haven't seen All the Right Moves.

I just don’t understand this take.

I can maybe see someone saying that it was “good for its time, but not great today”. I’d disagree but at least I’d get where you’re coming from.

The movie was and still is a cultural phenomenon. Literally everyone remembers at least a line from it. It’s funny and relatable even today. How does that not make it good?

You will learn that a lot of posters here are insecure and thus to appear "cool" or "edgy", they will trash anything that they feel is too mainstream.

You see it a lot in the babe threads, threads about restaurants, TV/movies, and music.

My question is why they put the star and lights on their tree on Christmas Eve? Was this tradition in the old days?

I think some people still do that nowadays. Put the tree up on Christmas Eve and leave it up until Three Kings Day.

I believe it was much more prevalent back then.
