After the Death March he had 3 1/2 years as a POW in Japan.

Went back for Korea and had a year of combat duty there.

Came home after his service ended and got on with his living.

I was related to him by marriage and I am proud to be able to claim that.

Semper Fi, old man! Godspeed.

I believe I know who you’re talking about. He was a geologist after his time in the military. I can’t remember his name, but I heard a podcast about his story and it is amazing.

Lived close to a survivor in LFT, one cool old gentleman. Ironically, I had lunch with a friend today that is a former POW from the VN war.
