If they’re right on the scale of this map, the Twin Spans bridge is longer than the Causeway!

It's hard to believe just how bad that "paper" has gotten.

$250 million casino and resort on a waterfront site near Slidell.

So they’re trying to build the fricking belle of Baton Rouge in Slidell?

frick that. Either go big or go home. Beau Rivage 2.0 or nothing.

The state isnt adding a new casino, it would just be moving one from Bossier to Slidell.

I can't wait to hit the comped breakfast buffet and spend my winnings on fireworks. Before leaving I will meet my bae at Middendorfs so we can down a few beers and eat 10 lbs of fried catfish. Best of all Bobby Hebert can finally move his live broadcast closer to da promised land.

Not for $250M it won't.....after all the elected crooks get done, it MAY only cost $750M

Right smack on a residential canal. Should be wonderfully horrible for those that live on that canal.

Why? How? The Blind Tiger bar and marina is right nextdoor....how would a Riverboat affect the residents on that canal?

I still can't believe there are so many casinos in a little town like Shreveport/Bossier. They must get a massive amount of gamblers from Texas.

The Baton Rouge metro is more than double the size of that area and can barely maintain 3 casinos.

This is a moronic question. Would a casino next to your house affect you? That's a canal in Lakeshore estates--a neighborhood with 90% single family homes, a few apartments and a small amount of retail/restaurant space. Do you not see how a casino changes the neighborhood? How would a casino on Hyacinth in Southdowns change that neighborhood?

They shuttered that casino because it couldn't compete against the other casinos.

6 casinos in shreveport/bossier is too much....one leaving was inevitable.

Shuttered Casinos are a particularly depressing sight. Anyone been to Tunica lately? There has to be at least 3-4 of them closed down out there.

There are no houses next to or on that side of the canal

No one would be driving through the neighborhood to get to the casino...the entrance would be behind the Shell gas station

Exactly. It isn't because Louisiana does a great job with their gambling industry

Maybe do not build a million dollar house next to multiple areas zoned commercial and next to an interstate?
