“Even well-intentioned laws must pass constitutional muster,” appellate Judge Kenneth Lee wrote for the panel’s majority. California’s ban on magazines holding more than 10 bullets “strikes at the core of the Second Amendment — the right to armed self-defense.”

He noted that California passed the law “in the wake of heart-wrenching and highly publicized mass shootings,” but said that isn’t enough to justify a ban whose scope “is so sweeping that half of all magazines in America are now unlawful to own in California.”

Majority on the decision was made up of a judge appointed by Trump and one appointed by George W. Bush.
Dissent was a judge appointed by Clinton.

I believe Trump has appointed 10 judges to the 9th circuit. Not sure if any of those were on this panel.

The decision written by an appellate judge appointed by President Donald Trump.

Should be noted that it was affirming a district court's summary judgment ruling that ban violated the 2nd Amendment.

That's rather surprising, being the 9th Circuit and all.

Trump flipped the 9th by filling vacancies with more conservative judges

So, California's decision here is to ask the 9th to hear the appeal en banc, ask the SCOTUS to hear the case, or take their L and go home?

The other progressive wonderlands have to be blowing California's phone up to shut this shite down before they frick around and give SCOTUS a chance to knock all their dicks into the dirt and rule magazine bans unconstitutional nationwide.

You can shite on Trump for a lot of things but he has done a great job with court appointments

Court appointments are going to draw a lot of support for him in 2020.
