Cheapest I’ve seen in a while, don’t frequent the board as much as I used to but when I do it seems prices are high this year.
Hope this helps you if you’re in the DFW area. Won’t be back to this thread so flame away.

Our local restaurant had 9.99 crawfish last night.

I think my son and his friends paid $3.99/lb. for live yesterday.

The Flying Fish is pretty solid. I don’t eat crawfish, but I would trust that they’re putting out quality.

Nate’s seafood in Addison has an $8.99 special all day today.

Just drove in to BR from Houston.. someone knowledgeable of crawfish farming please explain my observation..
I saw a lot of crawfish ponds dry.. it was not one or two under repair … it was a whole lot of them.. are y’all holding back so what is there can have a year to reproduce ?…is it just not cost effective to spend money and time to manage the pond this year?…. Why were so many sitting dry.. I did see traps in some..

I was just coming into the OT to see if anyone knew the price of crawfish in Dallas.

Somewhat unrelated, but I was in one of the little Vietnamese seafood places the other day. In da hood. Anyway, no one asked the price per pound when they came in. It was all “gimme $20/$30/$40 of crawfish.” The proprietors would take out a plastic grocery bag and measure out however many pounds/ounces that was. Tax included.
And, when I was done fixing the internet for them, they could pay via credit card.

That’s pretty common. We used to slice deli meats in the little store I worked at in high school. Practically all POC requested meat by the dollar amount, not pound.
“Give me a dollar fifty worth of pepper shosage. All in one slice.”
It could be a bit challenging to estimate how thick that slice should be.

Isn’t Nate’s one of the places that sprinkles seasoning on the crawfish after they’re done boiling? Maybe I’m confusing it with some other DFW place.
I used to hear a lot more commercials for Nate’s but I guess I listen to the wrong radio stations now.

They are much cheaper. I’ve seen $5 live. $5 extra to boil each pound? Nope

Nates is okay so long as the roaches stay on the floor and stay off your table.

Or you know crawfish supply is starting to pick up enough for crawfish prices to become more normal….. just a thought, but the board doesn’t want to grasp any idea that they don’t want to believe.

Most places in SWLA are under $7lb with some as low as $5.99lb
