Yeah, people aren't bringing up underlying conditions/weight/age to belittle the death of someone else. That's what some people don't get.
They're doing it to calm people down.
I have a friend absolutely losing her mind over this shite. She sends me sensational story after sensational story. She is the type of person who needs to be told about underlying conditions. She's convinced she's going to die and she's like 40 and healthy and not fat.

What about the Louisiana general public, of which 38% that are obese, 48% with cardiovascuar issues and 14% diabetic, not to mention cancer, lung issues, and smokers?

People should be upset that one reason the hospitals are being overwhelmed is due to a large part from people who chose not to take care of themselves
That is completely ok to state that, and be upset with that fact. That also doesn’t mean everyone who gets sick with this virus is because they don’t take care of themselves.

That's not going toward people who have conditions they are born with. I feel more anger towards people who refuse to take care of them selves.

Your SIL and I are outliers.
Vast majority of pre existing conditions are due to lifestyle choices.

I wonder if "Obesity" is only counted if a patient had an up to date medical record prior to admission with obesity explicitly mentioned?
These numbers would have a minimum 15% of the fatal cases where the patient was diabetic but not obese. So either more T2's are taking care of themselves than previously considered or T1's are getting hammered.
Also, 25% obesity is a wash with the general population.
