was going through my mid 1980s LSU GUMBOS and even the 'alternative' kids were in fairly decent shape and attractive/neat even with their crazy hair.

we were an attractive bunch of american kids back in the 80s and 90s

News ladies and women in general back then used their big girl voice and spoke so much more dignified than they do now. Where the little girl/helium voice came from, I have no idea.

I don't get that either, almost elfin or munchkin like, my daughter's best friend talks like that and she's from Texas, that's definitely a manufactured accent

My favorite back in those days was Lisa Robertson on QVC. Used to watch her for hours and never bought a damn thing

It was in the rotation of channels when I was at home sick from school along with daytime talk shows and sportscenter.
