I have never seen orcas on the ocearch map.

Are they too difficult to catch?

I don't believe they tag them. I'd looked once before myself as to why and discovered there's a lot of controversy about tagging orcas after one died a number of years back from an inadequately sterilized tag.

Last week Shark Week taught me you can swim with tiger sharks and great whites without a cage. What's the problem?

If that's the case, I think the other orcas realized that one of them were tagged and dealt with it themselves

That water is way to cold for normal people to be in it.

I don't see how people swim or there. I swam north of Boston in Gulf of Maine and the water was 60°.

Never go in the water if he's swimming

orcas

Apparently a couple of murderous orcas with a taste for shark livers have done a number on the great white population off the southern coast of South Africa. They've all but disappeared from one of the most famous great white feeding grounds in the world. Those two orca baws have the great whites running scared.

GANSBAAI, South Africa — A pair of orcas (or killer whales) may be the new Bonnie and Clyde of the sea. According to a new study, the duo has been terrorizing and killing great white sharks off the coast of South Africa — sending the fierce species fleeing for their lives!

You do understand there's a difference between the sharks you see in the Gulf and great white sharks in the open ocean, right?

What? There are GW sharks in the Gulf too. Hell, there was a 14 ft Tiger shark posted up just outside Mobile Bay on the tracker app earlier today.

They are much rarer in the Gulf than in other waters around the world. I'm sure you know this. I'm only talking about great whites. Of course, there are other shark types in the Gulf that are more prolific there.

Did you know that great whites are mainly coastal not open ocean dwellers like the big white tips?
