About a month ago I had a nightmare that the evil rich guy from Game of Thrones made me snort a line of Fentanyl that was about a foot long and two inches thick.

I woke up terrified.

*Fentanyl

And that shite is dangerous as hell. It's meant for ppl who are opioid tolerant and (obviously) is extremely easy to OD on, especially in combination with other drugs or when someone decides to tamper with extended release forms so that the full dose is instead released immediately. Mixing it with heroin whether intentionally or by drug dealers that are doing this w/o the knowledge of their "customers" is a rampant problem that is resulting in a large amount of deaths as well.

Vancouver has seen an average of 15 drug overdoses a month, with dozens more deaths still under investigation, Mr Palmer said. The city's coroner said that morgues had reached capacity.

Give me a fricking break.

The government has invested tens of millions of dollars in public health emergency responses in recent years, but Mr Robertson said that more was needed.

Umm, I wouldn't spend another penny on anything drug OD related.

Addiction is a bitch. I've seen it happen to all types of people. Good church goers, former school librarian/teachers, valedictorian of my class, etc.

Hell my dads doctor prescribed him Fentanyl, even after I told him several times that he reacted badly to opioids. I threw that shite away after I read that it can kill someone who is not used to opioids.

When I was 17, I had a tooth removed. Was given a script for 12 lortabs. The pain was so minor that I didn't even need aspirin.

No, that's exactly the problem. Addiction isn't just something that "works itself out." It must be nice to be so ignorant

Fentanyl (also known as fentanil) is a potent, synthetic opioid pain medication with a rapid onset and short duration of action.[6] It is a strong agonist at the µ-opioid receptors. Fentanyl is estimated to be between 50 and 100 times as potent as morphine.[7]

For any other OT'rs like me who had no idea wtf fentanyl was.

So are heroin and fentanyl commonplace for college kids nowadays?

OD resulting in deaths or just ODs? 15 a month isn't a lot for a city that size if we're just talking OD
