Gotta be deaths which still seems low, no way there are only that many over doses in a city that size

If you've had general anesthesia for surgery within the past 10-15 years you've more than likely had IV Fentanyl. The problem with this drug on the street is that it has a synergistic effect with other opiates and causes major respiratory depression and respiratory arrest. In the surgical setting it's an awesome drug.

Fentanyl is very potent. Most therapeutic doses for surgical pain range from 100-300 micrograms.
A big problem is the synthesis of these analogs of fentanyl like carfentanil which winds up in some heroin batches. It's 100 times more potent than fentanyl and 10,000 times more potent than morphine. 1 milligram would be enough to kill everyone reading the OT right now:

If heroin were legal you would have far fewer ods. Overdosing on real heroin isn't easy, but when you have some dumbass cutting in fentanyl or one of its analouges, people die... in high numbers. Regulate the mix and there is no risk of hot shots.

Fentanyl?
I remember when fentanyl and ketamine was issued to me to give my guys in case shite hit the fan.
Luckily no one needed it or took it from me.

Last I was in Vancouver, that was the first time I saw people just shoot up in the streets. That was in 2004.
