my neighbor used to harvest peat on his land. back in the mid 80's he found himself 19 or 20 intact canoes that were old af. i think they (uf wet site archeologists) dated a couple wooden bowls/mortars they also found to 2500-3000 years old. insane how well peat preserves things.
