I remember watching some of JJ Redick's games and when they would go on the road to play a conference team, the student section would chant to him "broke back Mountain".. I don't know why, but I use to think that was funny.
Can you imagine the outrage and backlash that would occur today if a student section chanted this??
MSESPN would be all over their homophobic asses.

So do a lot of Christians that take the Bible literally. That, or humans lived among them 6000 years ago.
They can't possibly admit to believing in fairy tales therefore most everything is figurative/ metaphorical in the Bible. Bible can always be loosely interpreted by believers

For example, the word "dinosaur" didn't exist until like 1842. There was no word for dinosaur. Then, all of a sudden in the next 15-20 years after this British scientist comes up with this word dinosaur and describes it in a medical journal, people start finding fossils.

This idiot is proof positive that you don't have to be smart to play basketball at Duke.
We knew this back in JJ's day. He played alongside Sheldon Williams.
Also, he admits he knows he's wrong on the subject, so saying he doesn't believe dinosaurs existed isn't exactly correct. But it is quite a stupid thought regardless.

How could dinosaurs have existed 100 million years ago when the earth is only 6000 years old?
A guy I went to high school with actually believes this

On problem with Reddick's assertion about humans not finding dino bones is that it simply isn't true. People did find them but didn't know what to make of them. From Wiki:
Dinosaur fossils have been known for millennia, although their true nature was not recognized. The Chinese, whose modern word for dinosaur is konglóng (??, or "terrible dragon"), considered them to be dragon bones and documented them as such. For example, Hua Yang Guo Zhi, a book written by Chang Qu during the Western Jin Dynasty (265–316), reported the discovery of dragon bones at Wucheng in Sichuan Province.[184] Villagers in central China have long unearthed fossilized "dragon bones" for use in traditional medicines, a practice that continues today.[185] In Europe, dinosaur fossils were generally believed to be the remains of giants and other biblical creatures.[186

I'm thinking to myself, all right, humans, homo sapiens have been here since 10,000 BC, we've been roaming the earth, we've had multiple empires all over the world. North America, Central America, Asia, Europe, Africa, whatever. In all that time, we didn't find any fossils until 150 years ago? It makes you think!

By "a lot" do you mean a minuscule minority of Christians?
No, but I can tell you were pissy and offended before you even typed your response.
If you read my post again, you would see I said that of the number of Christians that take the timeline of the Bible literally (i.e. genesis is a literal seven 24-hour day event), a lot of them believe dinosaurs are fake or lived 6000 years ago.
