As a millennial (34 - barely) in the traditional workplace, in a job that has no formal training, yet is highly specialized, I doubt I'll ever have to worry about losing my job to them either.

I'm 25 and was hired at the same as a girl who was also in my age range. She called in sick her second day on the job and quit on the third. Typical of my generation.

Nursing and truck driving are two of the largest and fastest growing careers. I'm technically ineligible for both because they require a special license.

It's nice being a millennial because it's very easy to get a job and move up in the world because all the other people my age are bad at life.

I've said this exact thing before. I got a $4K raise at a job within 2 months of starting once because I was just competent and showed up. Then $2.5K within a year after that. And a $2K bonus.

This is why my children had no problem finding a job out of college. Their peers are simply terrible

If I was in my mid 20's and single with no college education and looking for work I would easily do this for a few years. One of my redneck cousin's kid just started driving cross country for a freight carrier out of Mississippi and is making bank. He takes all of the longer runs that the older guys don't want anymore since they pay more. He's barely home, is seeing the world and is pocketing some real money right now. It's not a bad gig if you're not tied down.

She went with another job that would let her work the register instead of starting her on fries.

Typical boomer. Reading a catchy headline and falling hook, line, and sinker

Millennials are entering the workforce with more qualifications than any generation before. It’s just the job market demands more as well now

Also, I feel like degrees such as MBAs have been "cheapened" because so many people have them now. Kids are taught to pass tests and have no practical knowledge.

I flip the burgers, I'd never stoop to making fries. I'm not trailer trash.

Sounds like their parents need to do a better job of raising them

Companies would be surprised at how many quality employees they could hire if they were willing to train new hires instead of relying on universities to act as job training centers.

On the other side of that, we hire new college grads and train them, and their burnout rate is surprisingly high. To your point, we get some great employees out of it. However, for every one great worker I’d say we get 2 who, after 6 months of training, being assigned a mentor, and having no big responsibilities on projects, quit because they either didn’t get the same raise that someone else got, or decided that their real passion was their blog or indie music career.

Yep. One of the biggest problems in today's job market

For entry level? Not true at all.
