Trump came to BR with a few trailer truckloads of supplies

He also popped by St. Amant, LA. Only time during the flood that I actually saw cops out doing anything.

FB memories show this is the day we were able to finally access the house once water receded. Close to 4 feet, lost everything but our 2 cars and some bags of clothes

Was an awful time , especially with a newborn

I was heading back to Baton Rouge from my summer internship in Dallas. It took forever to get into the city with all fo the roads underwater.

Fortunately our condo (Lake Beau Pre) got spared but we spent the first couple of weeks back helping friends/faculty/classmates gut their homes.

Quit giving these groomers attention. I’m not a fan of Trump, but he was the only person in the DC arena to even acknowledge what happened here. Obama was on his way out and he didn’t care. Hillary already made it clear she hated us (deplorables).

I’ll never forget the media bashing Trump for giving out toys instead of food, etc. Only problem, of course, was they lied. He had multiple trucks here with a mix of supplies and toys. Media chose to focus on a doll to a girl and try to turn the effort into a bad thing. As you can see, it worked with a certain segment of society.

Every time they build a reservoir they keep the water level up in it to please the fishermen and the property owners around it . Same thing with retention ponds in neighborhoods . I've seen some pretty nasty arguments over water levels .

All he cares about now is that he and his ilk are trying to jail Trump, a wet dream for Progressives. So, in essence, he’s beaten Trump. Now it’s time to jail him, then go after stupid rednecks like you that may support him.

I'll never forget that steadily rising water. Everywhere you fled to it followed.

Creeping horror

Sherwood Forest was wiped out.

Unfortunately, those apartments on Flannery and Old Hammond somehow returned to normal.

It will happen again to LP with all of the development and improper drainage. That’s why it flooded the 1st time. You all need to sue the city officials and builders for what happened. And the next time, too.

Wut?
You must not know much about the storm that caused this event.

But I do agree development and drainage needs to be fixed

I helped gut at least 4-5 houses. A lot of them had mold by the time we got to gutting. Felt like the world stopped for about 2 weeks

I’ve lived in south Louisiana my whole life. I’ve never seen a downpour like that in a continuous 36 hour period. It was insane.

If I recall correctly the rainfall totals were very similar to Hurricane Isaac. I think that was over a 36-48 our period
Weak arse hurricane that would just not move on, I believe this was the flood that took out most of laplace and parts of the northshore and hammond

Crazy to think the BR flood was not named storm related, even crazier that most of the flooded people were not in required flood zones

How would help those south of the "wall"?
