37 YO. Only on 1 prescription med, weekly TRT injection. Don't HAVE to be on that but I feel a hell of a lot better on it.

Just smile, nod and leave after your appointment. He’s not going to force you to fill it. Just go home and thug it out with your strep. No need for the drama.

It’s depressing… I work in a hospital and have always said the 90 year olds are the best group to work with, the younger they get the more sedentary, unhealthy, needy and lazy they are. It’s even a big drop off between the 90 year olds and the 80 year olds.

I merely questioned if I really needed to take it since it was a "slight" positive.
He talked me into it.

I find it hilarious that people are focusing more on my strep comment than the statistics of prescription drug use

I curse the day I let the doctor talk me in to taking levothyroxine, one of the most prescribed drug in America and the only one I take. Apparently your body stops producing its own hormone and you have to remain on it forever.

I’m 55 and drug free! That includes both legal and illegal. I definitely need to exercise and stretch more, however.

I was in the hospital a year ago for a health scare (cardiac).
The absolute first thing that every doctor and nurse said when walking in the room and looking at my chart: "You aren't on ANY MEDICATIONS????!!!!"
Like that was some giant unicorn moment for them. It is a sad state of affairs when that is the case.

As we age, it's the goal of big Pharma to get people on as many drugs as possible. They are not acting in our best interest. They are not about cures because cures kill markets.

Went to the doctor last month because I turn 50 next year and the wife made me. Prob haven’t been to a doctor since I was 12.
First question, what prescriptions are you on? Seemed really put off and thought it was odd I wasn’t on anything.
Blood work came back fine. Cholesterol borderline high which I couldn’t give a shite about. Doctor called me…never called back.
Maybe I’ll go again in 20 years. American doctors are basically drug dealers. Good luck if you believe in that shite. FWIW doctor was fat. I don’t pay attention to people that are less healthy than me when it comes to health.
