What is the return time in tests now?

I know of people still waiting days. These people had an answer same day?

new tests are on the market that yield fast results - under an hour for some. If your acquaintances took the old test they will wait days or weeks.

Maybe they meant "as of yesterday"???

One week ago there were nearly 300 on the first day of testing

It seemed to go down from there .. I truly think that they meant "as of yesterday" there were that many. Could be very wrong but 600 in one day doesn't sound right.

The next day there were 107 tested

Today, 50 tests were completed, 41 individuals were screened out, totaling 91 at the Cajundome COVID-19 screening/testing site.

This was posted on the Lafayette Consolidated Government fb page ... 22 hours ago so that would be for Tuesday testing. I highly doubt that they went from 50 completed tests on Tuesday to 600 on Wednesday.

It's 600 total, not in 1 day. OP is wrong.

ETA: most of those 600 do not have results yet.

No, that was in Iberia Parish. Actual wording was "hook you up, clean, clean, podnuh"

I'm just so glad that other posters preserved this post so it can't be denied.

Nothing like confirming bias by either intentionally botching the math, or just not having the acumen to realize off the bat that 20/600 is NOT 30%.

YET the dumb pic stays because the thought can't be proven with facts.

Was this meant towards me? If so, what are you talking about?

I'll answer for him.

The old rule is if you mention a female (in this case a neighbor), you have to post a pic of them or if not people will ask for pics.

Since you later said she's pushing 350, no one else asked

Lafayette appears to be significantly under-testing. That, plus the long delay for the test results to return, is the reason Lafayette's positive case numbers are so low.

Assuming you have the typical symptoms (SOB, cough, fever), you cannot get screened at the Cajundome unless you are part of one of the following "high-risk" groups:
1. Elderly;
2. Pregnant;
3. Immunocompromised (hiv+, etc);
4. Receiving chemotherapy;
5. Reside in a communal living facility; or
6. A "medical professional who has had direct contact with a suspected case or confirmed case of COVID-19”

The positive cases being reported in Lafayette do not accurately reflect the rate of infection in the reminder of the population. If you're not in one of the aforementioned groups, you can't get tested at the Cajundome.

Yep. There's a huge backlog.

588 have tested since March 18 at the Cajundome. Once the results finally come back, we'll see a surge

Guillory said at his press conference this afternoon that 628 had been tested at the Cajun Dome .. said others of course had been tested in hospitals but the CD itself was 628.
