That number was under 1% in 1995 and around 22% in 2009.

What was that number back in the 50s? Back when America was on the right track!

Met my current wife on dating app in 2021 and just had our first baby earlier this year.

And the amount of unfulfilled marriages insane! Led to a generation filled with greed and nepotism.

Do they specify internet vs. dating app? I'd be curious to see a breakdown of that.

Met my girlfriend the old fashioned way.

We both work remotely for the same firm, first time for me dating within the same company. I’ve had a couple flings within the same company, but never anything that may get serious.

I try to stay off the apps, most of the women on them have been run through.

Yeah I assume they mean dating apps. How do you meet on the internet? I assume that would mean forums? Sounds weird

That's just how it is today.

I met my wife, the good, old fashioned way, in a bar.

Could be forums. Lots of people (me included) have met and dated/married from this board alone. But I meant more things like facebook. Then I know younger kids these days "meet" on social media apps like Tiktok or Snapchat. So those kinds of things versus actual dating apps (Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, whatever).

interesting enough, "meeting in a bar" is the only other way to have increased over the last decade

Divorce rates are already around 50% which seems astronomical. Wonder how much worse it can get now that everyone finds a mate online or if it actually swings the other way since you are able to be more selective with more fish in the sea now

Why is this shocking? People and culture adapt to technology. Look at how many people are steaming shows and movies in 1995 and 2009 vs now. The world changes and we change along with it.

Chatrooms, message boards, and social media sites like X. Surprisingly enough, people are starting to meet on the latter more and more often these days.

It was always said that 10% of the guys got 90% of the girls worth having (not fat, hideous, etc). I bet that number is further exasperated now. They see the tall, attractive men and won’t give the time of day to anyone else.

At least while in person, you stood a chance with confidence, charm, being funny, etc. Now, you probably won’t even get to that point. Going be a whole new breed of incels.
