Last night we decided to eat dinner in the city. I cringed at the thought but we know a good restaurant. We took the St. Charles exit and within minutes we saw a man with his pants around his ankles, and shirt pulled up under his chin, wiping his arse. He wiped once, twice, then looked at the brown paper and discarded it tot he ground in front of him.

This is New Orleans.

Yeah they decided to put the homeless shelter right next to one of the main offramps tourists take.

Yea good luck trying to find that. It would be funny to see just how much it doesn't mimick the overall demographics of the city.

300 plus black on black shootings in the first five months of the year. God forbid a white person shoot a black person anytime or anywhere. This is my outrage. The entire black community turns a blind eye to their own created problems.

7 people killed in a terrorist attack in London yesterday and you see worldwide outrage.
6 people shot in New Orleans yesterday and not a single frick is given other than from the law abiding tax paying residents of New Orleans . How did we get to where we are?

Jeff Asher (@crimealytics) is the best source for crime data/analysis. Uses the City's published data.

quote:

13 people were shot yesterday in New Orleans (2 killed) making it by far the most violent day of 2017. Previous high was 8 shot in one day.

quote:

There have now been 703 people shot in New Orleans over the last 365 days after yesterday's violence.

I'm sure there's a perfectly good explanation for all of this.

It's the statues that remain that are causing this.

What else, amirite? I mean, Mitch said so

It's the Andrew Jackson statue. It comes to life every night and goes on a shooting rampage.

Has the OT received a ruling on this from Tangerine?

They still have some evil street names that ride with President Jackson every night too.

How bad will it get when the tourism dries up? Once you get a "Detroit" reputation it's hard to come back from that... Especially with less money to fix the problem.

Mitch doesn't care. He's looking ahead to his next gig and can care less about his lack of commitment to real issues of New Orleans.

Honest question, what gives you any indication that tourism is drying up?

When the city still has 12 million visitors a year come in

And I already know what your answer is going to be so I'll tell you to go look at the crrime stats from the 90's and get back to me.

Does anyone have a link the Mitch's email.

I Emailed him after someone was slumped over with a spoon and needle in their lap in a car across the street from my house. When the cup came, he fussed at the addict and told her to go home. Cop said the mayor won't let them arrest for incidents like that because the courts are so backed up. This was like 6 months ago. I'm still waiting for a reply....

To be fair, people get pissed when blacks shoot whites, too.

I don't get it. Statues came down. They said this would stop.
