Mitch says no worries there are more statues that need to be removed to curb the violence

Which is the same as 90 shot in Chicago.

Airbnb.
You now need to own license and proof of an expensive insurance to use the site. Even then you're limited to 90 days per year
I bet it'll cut the units in half, eliminating a lot of cheap housing options for tourists

The shootings continue because the remaining statues make these otherwise law-abiding citizens do it

PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, STOP WITH THE STATUE JOKES!!! There must have already been 15 in this thread and not a single one of them was funny or original.
It's kind of a serious topic, you know.

Who knew that a tornado in February would lead to violent crime in June?

Oh. I spoke to an AirBNB owner a few months ago and she didn't seem to be worried about the new restrictions too much. Definitely didn't imply anything about the 90 day restriction. Maybe it was before the restrictions you are talking about, or she just didn't know the consequences.
If so, that's huge. When home prices were exploding, I knew that it would take just one law outlawing AirBNB to make them plummet. That's certainly a step. And with more people leaving the city than moving into it, the increased supply won't help. I think you're right to sell ASAP. You'll still make a pretty penny if you bought over 3 or 4 years ago.
I used to be obsessed with buying a home Uptown. I love the architecture and being able to walk to so many bars/restaurants. But with the crime getting worse, home prices blowing up, and the city loving any tax increase that gets put up for vote, there's no way I'll ever buy in NOLA. I'm not even interested in buying in the state for another 5-7 years. People think the budget issues are bad now, just wait until the Fed money runs out on the Medicaid expansion (2019 I believe).

Ya man. I'm on the same page as you. I don't have much short term optimism

How the frick do you know this? Or do you just listen to what the media tells you.
Well Darryl, I happen to see the local New Orleans news several times a day and work in the city several times a week. I still have yet to see outrage by anyone inside the black community on a public platform about what is occurring on a daily basis.
If you see it, please share for my knowledge as well as all others that are flabbergasted as to how this is happening each and every day.
