oh I consider it a good thing mostly

but I do feel bad for her sometimes as I can tell she feels left out when her friends are talking about popular things that she doesn't know about

and a lot of it isn't even necessarily bad, its just things she hasn't been exposed to because we don't watch much TV or spend a lot of time on the internet as a family

i'm glad there are some actual parents in this thread vs the smug college-age kids who think they understand kids.

My 9 year olds mentioned this mess to me. I asked them if they thought it was real, they said no.

that was our situation but my children are grown now with good jobs and good relationships so it seems to have evened out. But there was certainly a time that my son was out of the loop on the latest video games (but he played multiple sports)

It gets on my nerves now because I can't snoop and follow their lives on FB and Instagram though lol

My 7 year old won't shut up about it. I got a terrible "origins" story of Sirenhead from him a couple nights ago.

We only stream. Don't pretend that is what people mean when they say they are on the internet.

You seem really sensitive about this. I'm not judging you. I'm sure my youngest will be much more exposed to stuff like this simply because she will have an older sister to expose her to it.

Mine can't have tik tok, snap chat or instagram. There is too many sick fricks out there and teenage girls can be VERY naive and trusting of who people say there are.

i'm still trying to figure out what you mean by 'not spending time on the internet as a family'.

i mean what would a family activity be? browsing TD together? reading through some hilarious reddit threads? sharing memes around the fire?

not sure what spending time w/ the family on the interent would entail.

I didn't mean it like that

I meant, we, even individually, don't spend much time on browsing the internet

I do, by far, simply because I'm on a computer most of the time at work

I told my kids not to worry about ol' siren head.

I also told them that if klaxon head ever shows up, they better hold on to their arse.

i love how you ignored the part of my post where one of his friends showed this to him.

i guess your kids are mute and blind and never look at anyone else's phones or tablets ever.
