Yep, stood for only 28 years. This year will be the 23rd anniversary of the attacks.

It was the biggest piece of the just unreal skyline of NYC. It’s remarkable how manhattan is designed.. a true marvel…..

I still think we should have thrown those towers back up in record time and made them even taller.
Or maybe add a third one with the middle tower standing taller, giving the world across the ocean the finger forever.

It’s interesting to think New Orleans had the first World Trade Center in the world

We used to be a serious country. We should have built them back. Exact copy as a complete F.U. to the terrorists.

Ric Burns has an incredible documentary about NYC. An entire episode is on the WTC.

I was in there in probably 1997. I was only 4 or 5 at the time but I do remember there was a Sbarro up there, as well as going out on the observation deck (aka the things that would matter to a 5 year old)
I'm sure I subconsciously made an effort to remember it after 9/11, but it's one of the earlier memories I have.

It still pisses me off watching old movies and seeing the towers

THAT is the craziest statistic I’ve read in a long time. Damn we’re getting old!!
