Man this pisses me off. We've had trouble with our 1st grader getting bullied on the bus the last 2 years. They would put me in jail if they let me in a room with that 5th grader's arse that was messing with my kid.

Why is a 12 year old riding on a school bus with elementary school children?

There are a lot of K-12 schools...

I rode the bus with high schoolers as an elementary student.

This practice needs to end. Monsters and potential serial killers need to be exposed.

But what about the cases where someone gets wrongfully charged? Let's not crucify them until we know they're guilty.

You are a woefully shitty parent if you produced a 12yr old that does this to a sweet little girl in kindergarten. Like, we need to see whats going on in the home asap

That goes for anybody, but I will concede your point. Regardless, the practice of protecting juvenile offenders from the media is obsolete and should stop, particularly for violent offenses.

Bullies are bullies regardless. At that age the only one making race an issue would be a parent.

However, being pretty familiar with that jurisdiction, it wouldnt surprise me to see that happen if there is a racial difference.

I have a neighbor kid that's around 12 and he acts like a nice kid around grown ups but is a little shite to his much smaller brother.

He's a future LTI resident. The little bastard causes no end of trouble for his dad and the mother doesn't back up what his dad tells him to do.

So he'll either end in LTI or prison. He needs military school.

our district has a elementary and middle school bus. The seating is arranged by age, youngest upfront closest to the bus driver, older kids to the back. There would physically be no way a 4th or 5th grader could be in the vicinity of a kindergarten age child on our bus.

The kid sucks and needs to get fricking beaten to within an inch of his life by a grown man, but the school district should have proper protocol in place to avoid this in the future

So did I. When I was about 8, one of the seniors on the bus used to thump me in the back of the head, then use his senior ring after those arrived.
I told my mom about it. My parents always told us to never start trouble, but never let anyone push us around. I said, "Mom, he's bigger than I am".
She said, "Is he bigger than me?" I said, "Mom, he's bigger than Dad". My Dad was 5'11", 175ish, old boy on the bus was 6'2, 250ish.

Next day, my Dad was up and around when I was getting ready for school, which was unusual. After I got on the bus, he followed until we got to this old boy's house.
My Dad got on the bus, and told the bus driver he had some words for this big old boy.
Basically told the old boy if he wanted to hit someone, he could try him on for size, and he ever heard any more from me abut any problems, there would be a lot more than words.
That big motherfricker was 'Yessir"-ing his arse off.
We had very little trouble from kids on the bus after that.

For you "tl;dr" shitbirds, big guy on the bus was fricking with me, Dad took care of bidness.

I wouldn’t have reported it to police. I’d be dressed for school, with my backpack on, waiting to catch my bus the following morning. Then the police could sort shite out.

Means they were held back one year. Not really that big of an age gap.

Mean between actual 5th graders age, not between 5 year old and 12 year old.

Poor baby

If someone did that to my 3yr baby girl, you can bet I’d beat the hell out of that kids parents and I’d make that kid watch

They rarely release any information regarding juvenile offenders.

Which is nuts, depending on the severity of the crime. I'd sure like to know if the 12 y/o next door has a history of violent assault against other kids. I think we have a pretty good blueprint on what most of these severe cases become as adults.....

My question is why didn’t the driver intervene?

I had 3 older siblings at the same school, including a brother 8 years older.

Because of this, they usually drove me to school, but when they couldn't for some reason, I'd ride the bus.

No one ever fricked with me because of that

Imagine having 40 screaming kids on a bus, trying to drive, while also trying to see what every kid in every row is doing.

Sometimes the bus drivers just can't see everything.

She’s either one tough gal or the bus driver ignored her screaming and crying

Or couldn't hear it over the other kids screaming and being loud.

shite, our bus driver would play fun music for kids to keep them happy. Not sure if that's still allowed though.
