More casualties from the idiotic war on drugs.

it's was reported by my local Houston news station that several neighbors called and left tips on this house/location being drug den. rumored to primarily be dealing black tar heroin.

are you suggesting that the neighbors were in the wrong? that they should just be cool with their next door neighbor cooking up black tar heroin and selling it a few feet from where they raise their children?

You don't have to keep using black tar as a descriptor for heroin. it's all the same charges

sorry bro, i don't know much about drugs. black tar heroin sounds worse than regular heroin to me, but i couldn't tell you the difference. point remains the same.

The 54 year old case agent (one of the two critically wounded officers) has got some balls:

quote:

At Memorial Hermann, however, surgeons were treating the critically injured officers. The most senior of the narcotics squad — the case agent — has been shot twice previously in the line of duty since joining HPD in 1984, once in 1992 and again in 1997. During the 1992 incident, he took a bullet to the cheek.

Yes - part of the update is that some of these very same police from yesterday have been shot in the 90s (multiple times).

How are your feelings today, big fella? Any emotions you'd like to share with us in your alternate reality?

You can in fact own a grenade.

Good luck finding one for sale though.

Well, you might start by reading the well-documented facts from earlier in the thread, detailing how much safer police work is than it used to be.

And even you must think it's amusing that part of the answer to your question of "do any of you recall cops shot during the 1990s or even the early 2000s" is that one of the very cops from the incident yesterday likely vividly remembers the multiple times he was shot in the 90s.

And to think - those shootings happened BEFORE the "lefty media and SJW filth" teamed up with Soros to start targeting cops. Also, chemtrails!

It might surprise you to learn that the two dealing in this house were white.

Granted that neighborhood is overwhelmingly Hispanic, but white folks love them some smack.

Sigh...I do not think you would be much fun at ball games or parties. Leave that Fedora at home. Police work is safer? What does that even mean? Inside paperwork house cats would agree with you. Is patrolling neighborhoods safer? Dangers of isolated assholes like Gavin Long fewer?

I mean...I appreciate your dire need to throw tables and charts and quotes and what not at all of us -- especially me -- while officers mentioned in this thread are dying. Your good ole days of Barney Miller police work (I have to assume you are a cop huh) must have been traumatic.

You are good at finding stats. You are not good at situational comprehension. Look around you scrub? Does this look like the dawning of a new day to you?

The goalposts have officially been moved out of Tiger Stadium and into the PMAC. YOU are the one who made the assertion that basically cops rarely got shot at in the 90s and early aughts.

You've been presented with copious evidence that this claim is just in your own mind - owing to various things such as your own cognitive biases, general ignorance, and today's social media saturation.

And now you are trying to play the part of some philosophical bard instead of simply saying "I screwed up. My impression that cops are being shot at more now is simply wrong" and moving on.

No, now we're supposed to believe you didn't say what you said.

This was a drug bust gone wrong. Period. There is likely literally zero extra information to extrapolate from it.

Your absurd narrative that this didn't used to happen, but now it IS happening due to media and SJWs is just off the rails stupid. You are hoping the sky is falling and it is not. Things are about better than they've ever been.

quote:

while officers mentioned in this thread are dying.
And now you're the martyr also. Well part of the reason I KNOW shite was bad back in the day was my friend was shot and killed in BR during a bust in the 80s. LINK

Spare us your sanctimonious bullshite now that you're near-total ignorance and chickenshitness has been revealed.

Do you actually live in Concrete? I drove through Newhalem a few years back and was struck by how much it looked like where "the others" lived in Lost.

It means statistically a garbage man is more likely to lose their life at work than a cop. Most dangerous public service job there is
