I am willing to try the hybrid which is both but apparently they don’t want to make those anymore

Yeah, the hybrid makes the most sense to me.
My friend, who is also a car guy, has one of the Toyota hybrids for his work car and he loves it.
It's going to need batteries soon though and he's dreading that.

So 0% are happy with their EV?
Idiot.
There is this thing called "consumer confirmation bias". People will even lie to themselves and make excuses when purchases don't exactly live up to expectations.
It's not just about EVs either. Alot of people that buy certain types of vehicles, will swear by them, even though they are in the shop constantly and cost triple to maintain.
I know shitloads of those types of people.

I know Range Rover owners, too.

Range Rover owners,
First ones that come to mind, but there are plenty of others too.

Is the EV their only vehicle? Yes I agree, I could never own an EV if I didn't have access to a gas vehicle as well if needed.
I drive a Tesla. My wife has a 3 row SUV. We use mine for 98% of driving. We use hers for hauling stuff or trips >250 miles. It works out perfectly. The thought of doing a long distance drive in an EV despite owning one makes me cringe
ETA: Spending only $181.08 to go the 7,781 miles I have on it is very nice too

I recently got a Mach E, zero regrets and loving it. I don’t think I’ll ever go back to an ICE vehicle.
Our second vehicle is an XC90 Recharge. That gets anywhere from 30-40 miles on full electric. We tested the waters with that before going full in on an EV.

Another good point - Tesla has regenerative braking. So I will not need new pads for 100-150,000 miles.

I wonder how much of this EV hate is related to politics. Biden pushed EVs hard, too hard honestly, therefore EVs belong in the lib column and must be mocked. Simple way of thinking.

Do NOT let the car charge itself. That'll KILL your gas mileage.
Mine's an XC60 Recharge, wife has the S90 mild hybrid. It gets decent enough gas mileage as well, but not like mine. She wanted a car, not an SUV and... like the color. Silver Dawn. Didn't want to wait on a PHEV. Oh well. Happy wife, happy life.
I'm SERIOUSLY thinking about getting a V60 Polestar PHEV. You can't have too many Volvos. Or guns.

It is when they haven’t figured out how to dispose of the batteries and electricity isn’t free, someone is paying for your stupidity

Yes they have. There just no market for them yet because the failure rate has been so low.

They also haven’t figured out how to properly dispose of plastic but everybody buys that.

I know a guy who switched his EV for a gas car. He said it didn't perform well in very cold weather

And the progs want to FORCE this crap on the world!

This is a valid criticism. Range does decrease a bit in really cold weather.

I am so ready to get a 2023 EV with the user credit. Honestly I think the plugin is the overall better deal. This next both will have crazy prices

It's amazing how weak and insecure people are about worrying about what kind of cars other people drive.
When it comes to EVs, the OT acts like they only drive the most economical and practical vehicles and never do a trade off in exchange for something they like. Low maintenance family vehicle that is VERY swift and doesn't require going to gas stations is a huge pro for those with chargers at their homes. No need to be insecure about it.
