Seems fair.

Spends money on slot machine.

She's gonna win alright, but will be in a court of law.

Max payout on the slot machine was posted at $6,800. Clearly a malfunction but she should be paid something.
I love how she told the casino manager to "pay me the $43M and I'll take YOU out for a steak dinner"

My question is, So how many times do these slot machines "malfunction" in the casinos favor and no one finds out about it?

Next time I lose $1,000 on craps I'm going to ask the pit boss if he will return it. I'll just say the dice malfunctioned.

I'll bet you a steak dinner she doesn't win.

My father got fricked out of $1200 on a video poker game in LC.

She actually won $2.25. And the penny slot machine she was playing on had a max winnings of $6500, but it's illegal for the casino to pay out anything other than the $2.25, so they offered her a steak dinner since that's not controlled by the gaming commission.
Sucks... but I hope she enjoyed that steak. Hopefully rare or medium rare, without steak sauce or ketchup.

Seems like they could have come up with a more creative solution than that. At least give her $6500 worth of steak dinners.

She didn't win.
You don't win 43 million on penny slots.

When I worked at the Beau Rivage they had a progressive up to something truly insane - like $30 million - but to win it you had to have bet the max on that spin. Well, a guy was doing that with his wife sitting next to him and decided he'd go to the bathroom. He told his wife to keep betting for him. She hit the jackpot ... but had only bet $1 and thus only won $1,600. When the guy got back he lost his mind and started beating his wife right there on the casino floor. He was arrested. I don't know what happened to them after that but I imagine that they didn't stay married.

She was playing penny slots...she's definitely getting medium-well with steak sauce and ketchup.

She deserved it.

I have heard of this happen before, but I always wonder.. Can they prove its a malfunction? Shouldn't that be a risk they have to take? They put the electronic machines in their casino so whenever it hits they have to pay out.. No matter what..

The ol' slot machine investment plan finally pays off, just to be snatched away on a technicality. Brutal.
Also, I didn't realize there are casinos in NYC. No wonder Atlantic City is dying.

Yes, when a machine that has a max payout of $6500 tells you that you've won $43M, that's a malfunction.
