Ronald Gerald Wayne is an American retired electronics industry worker. He co-founded Apple Computer with Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs, providing administrative oversight for the new venture. However, he soon sold his share of the new company back to Jobs and Wozniak for $800 US dollars, and later accepted $1,500 to forfeit any claims against Apple (in total, equivalent to $9,498 in 2017). As of March 2018, if Wayne had kept his 10% stake in Apple Inc., it would have been worth over $84 billion
Ouch

I always try to not regret things in life, because it's a silly waste of time and it's easy to see what you should have done or done differently with the benefit of hindsight....
But this one would be a tough one to swallow and move past.

Everything this guy touches turns to gold... after he sells it for a few hundred bucks.

In the early 1990s, Wayne sold the original Apple company agreement, signed in 1976 by Jobs, Wozniak and himself, for $500. In 2011, the contract was sold at auction for $1.6 million.

Steve Jobs ownes about $2B in Apple stock at his death.
In 1977, he owned 26% of the company, a stake that should have been worth $162B at his death. He sold all of his shares but one by 1985.
He also owned 1.5MM shares in 1997 after Apple purchased his company, but he sold all of it within a year due to frustration with the company's direction.
Pixar and eventually Disney was his most valuable asset at death.

A friend of mine sold his ownership in a startup for $100K ten years ago.
Company is now worth over $600M.
Thing is he sold out to his other partners because he said he was tired of working his arse off. But he works his arse off now.
We don’t even mention it. It’s just understood not to go there.

Know what’s a more sickening thought (to me at least) thsn missing out on being a billionaire 84 times over? Had he said “hey fellas, ima keep one share just for posterity’s sake. Oh, wait, y’all already cut the check for $800? Hang tight, let me dig around through the roaches in my ash tray (‘cause you know those hippies were all a buncha marijuana addicts)......ok, wait, need one more nickel, Whoops, here it is. Ok, here ya go, just cancel my certificate for 800, mail me a new one for one share - ima laminate it, and put it on my TV tray as a place mat for when I’m eating pot pies and such, ya know, since it the first lil college company I helped form and all.”
The one share place mat, with the gravy stains all over it, would be worth 10,500,000. Dollars. American. Of the USD variety.
