He never said how much. I routinely travel with my wife, toddler, and dog and manage to fit car seat, kennel, all the kid crap, multiple suit cases, etc... in a 4Runner.
It can get tight though with hauling all the gear so we will be looking at a Sequoia in the next few years when my wife needs a new car.

I have a 1999 Tahoe 2 door I still drive as a second vehicle. It has nearly 250,000 miles on it and is still going strong (only major problem was a transmission at 175,000).
My '03 100 Series has 200K on it...I had to replace the windshield wiper blades last week.

Interesting. I would probably select every one of those vehicles on your list over the RX. Why the RX?

I’m just here for the Land Cruiser talk.
Something not mentioned about LC/LXs... they were/are very expensive when new. The typical owner bought it because of reliability and were fastidious about service. Any 1-owner 100 series will have everything done by the book. The big service is a timing chain every 90k miles. The other intervals are fluid changes.
The problem with 100s and GX470s is the nice ones are the same or more than a newer of similar condition 200 or GX460.
To the OP, for $40k you can get a CPO GX. If you are willing to have higher miles, go LC. If you can find a super clean 100 or GX470 with history for under $23k, get it and save your money.

$40k on a vehicle. It never ceases to amaze me how stupid people are.

We both just loved the way it handled and drove. Didn't feel like a "truck", wasn't clunky, decent gas mileage, large back seat, Toyota/Lexus reliability, etc.
We liked all of them for different reasons, except for the RDX(too small) and the Explorer(drove horribly). The Explorer was previously a rental though, so that may have had something to do with it? Not sure. We barely made it off the lot before eliminating it.

My wife just got a VW Atlas for right around $40k. It's definitely a chick-mobile, but I love it.

2018 Maserati Levante
I know they´re shite vehicles, but it would be fun for a year or so, and then sell it for near the same price paid, no?

I used to drive that Tahoe like I stole it when it was a daily driver and pulled all kinds of stuff. I'm not upset with a transmission at 175,000. Especially for the fact when I had it rebuilt it was 13 years old and it was relatively inexpensive.
