30A is so maxed out credit cards, driving 2 Yukons with 120 month loans, while making 120k a year type of crowd. fricking losers.
Yeah my grandpa who paid $900 for his lot isnt in that category. Nor are any of the other property owners in his area.

You could move to Oregon where every inch of beach is public

30A is good for about two weeks out of the year. One of those weeks is when a hurricane is bearing down. Too many of you there. It’s holly beach for me and mines.

What does this have to do with traffic? People driving on the roads instead of going to beach?

30a is now poor country"
It's always been poor country.

Why would you want public beach access and more crowds when paying top dollar in a nice private area? Public brash folks can stay Days Inn and use the public beach.

If you're tired of the bullshite, come on down to our doo doo beach in Biloxi.

Every OT ballers favorite beach vacation destination has officially died. While crowds this weekend are well above normal due to Atlanta having a late Spring break, the crowds on the beachs are almost completely bare. Void of any vacationers, Bluetooth speakers, or 65 qt Yeti ice chests.
Wait…you’re complaining about traffic on the roads and nobody on the beach on…checks weather…a day that appeared to have thunderstorms all day?
Total shocker

It blows my mind how people spend money to go get roasted on a hot/humid beach. frick that noise.

I made a similar thread about a year ago.
We went and accessed the beach through a public entrance. Most of the beach was empty save for the few public access areas every mile or so.
My wife and I said we wouldn’t go back. Maybe the rich folk there don’t care, but it certainly will (or hopefully should) deter people from spending $750/night to walk a mile to the beach and get jam packed with other regular people while the rich enjoy their spacious beachfront area a few times a year.
Edit - we were annual 30A visitors. I don’t see why anyone without deeded beach access would go. And that will cost you serious coin to get.

quote:how about maybe choose a better beach? You can drive another 4 hrs and be in st Augustine where a few weeks ago we paid 250/nite to stay ON the beach in a house not a 30th fl condo which is totally public in every direction, and so damn wide you are never within 100’ of anyone else.

Or…stick with 30A like everyone else. The problem isn’t lack of beach access it’s lack of imagination

quote:Maybe a win for now.....
This is not breaking news as this has been the case for 7 years now. The senate voted 18-2 or something like that and the house voted 82-0 in favor. DeSantis will sign, some homeowners will try to file a restraining order, but at the end of the day this is a win for all homeowners outside of beach front.
I see this to likely be struck down in appeals or Supreme Court. WAYYYYYY to big of a can of worms to open now. Historically riparian owners owned to mean high tide, absolutely nothing has been discovered to prove otherwise. The state recognizes it owns below mean high tide. This is tourism money grab by the county/state.
You start letting public access to traverse across private property, then where does that end? Can I walk through the middle of your front yard because the county owns the sidewalk adjacent to you? Can I now pop up all tent with a loudspeaker and throw a party in your yard? What's the difference?
Granted I have not really read anything about how this is all worded. Just seems prime to use a precedence for future access issues across the state and country.

what’s the point then? “The sand and water are so much nicer at the beach we can’t access!”
I’m joking mostly but I sure you see the point. 30A is not the only place to have a nice beach vacation

Sure seems like a taking to me. People bought knowing they had full ownership and rights to the high water mark. Now they don’t and no compensation?
