He means the fishing bite. For those that actually know what they are doing.

LDWF treats them like they’re an endangered species.
One of the main reasons I take what biologists/scientist say about sharks being endangered with a grain of salt. Those guys and gals love and are very passionate about their work. They have to be because as intellectual and capable as they are, they sure don't pick that field for the money.
Imo, they see the natural order as paramount above all else. If a few humans get eaten here and there, then "its just the natural order".

we were snorkeling in Turks and Caicos last month and I was just about to get on the boat to get a beer and my wife called out "there's a shark right here, get back in and take a look," I was thinking why would I want to jump in when a shark is ten feet from the boat? but I did, I couldn't tell what kind of a shark it was because I have to wear prescription glasses and the snorkel mask was just a snorkel mask, it was was about 6'-8' long, just checking everything out

Nurse shark attacks are the 4th most common type of shark attack. Somehow folks see a nurse shark, which appears to be a lumbering docile critter, and start fricking with it and when the shark does what a shark is going to do they are shocked. Nurse sharks are not overly aggressive but they are very common and are, at the end of the day, a predator. I would bet that unprovoked nurse shark attacks are almost unheard of but they do attack a bunch of idiots who frick with them.
People attacked by nurse sharks are usually feeding them then they get their hands/arm bitten. Sharks do not have much dexterity in their bite. They are either biting or not. Not much in-between.

Most fisherman are well aware of this and know they have about 2 hours most mornings to fish without being invaded by others using the beach.
What you're really saying is that you set up where you knew people were going to be, and you think that because you got there first, it's their problem.
Y'all decided to FAFO...well, you're finding out...

What does happen EVERYTIME is that fisherman will set up at day light and about an hour after setting up folks will start walking the beach. About 2 hours after setting up folks will start swimming. About 3 hours after sun up the beach is over run with folks who have invaded the area the fisherman was set up in 3 hours before they got out of bed.
If you’re fishing in an area where vacationers stay and use the beach, then of course that’s going to happen. I think most people start going down to the beach in the 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM timeframe.

The worst thing about Gulf Coast Beach vacations is the cost
The second worst thing are other people who go on gulf coast beach vacations

Well, who could see this coming when you set up in front of fricking condos

Ive never even done shore fishing at popular beaches. Who does that?
I remember this one guy when we were younger dragging his line way out in a kayak then coming back in. Well he caught a shark doing that.

You're being unrealistic if you think you can setup at dawn on a section of beach with condos and vacation rentals and think that you're not going to have a crowd of swimmers all around you by 9:00 am.
If you want to surf fish in front of your condo, then you need to be willing to call it quits about 2 hours after sunrise when swimmers start showing up and/or fish in the evening when people are getting out of the water.
Otherwise, either fish from a pier or take a drive to a section of beach that's away from condos and vacation rentals where you won't have many tourists around.
Not worth the risk of some kid getting tangled in your line or stepping on a hook, regardless of who's fault it was.
Now, if you were surf fishing an isolated stretch of beach and some family came and setup right next to where you were fishing despite having tons of room to avoid being in your way, then I'd say something.

The one you describe is exactly what you claim and they do exist for certain. Most beach goers never see the beach fisherman who knows what they are doing unless they are on the beach before daylight. The one you describe is also rare, not anywhere close to the majority, and do not participate in the activity for very long because they are not successful at doing anything but getting into angry confrontations with other drunken beach goers. At times on some beaches the number of extremely knowledgeable and successful fisherman will be close to the number of beach goers on a nice summer day at 10 AM. The outer banks of NC is one such area, much of south Florida is at times. There are very few of those fisherman who will show up at midday on a crowded beach and start fishing set rigs amongst the swimmers.
Just spent 5 days in OB and there were multiple groups of fishers every day in the middle of the day smack dab in the middle of crowds. Do you go out of your way to be ignorant on every single topic?

Last year in Seagrove I had to go out early every morning for them to set up my chairs. They would not set them up unless someone were down there. While I was waiting I watched a guy fishing next to me. He had two rods that he was using. One he would simply cast out. The other he would attach to a drone and fly it way out and the drone would drop it. He didn't catch shite the two days I watched him.
