I had no idea a 19 year old kid ran that shop. Always see a plethora of Chargers and Impalas outside.

I had no idea that the culcha was into vaping. I thought that was a man bun/hipster thing.

Well these shops sell swisher sweets and a plethora of blunt wrapping material, which attracts the culcha.

You really don’t think there are people serving life for non violent crimes?

I said there aren't many.

And in my experience, there is actually a pretty significant chasm between the people who will brandish a weapon and those that will use it.

Violence risk assessments don't make that distinction.

Assuming that kid had a prior felony conviction for, let's say, possession of cocaine, then that 10-99 becomes 32-198. Doesn't matter in the least whether that prior conviction was violent or even had any relation to the current offense.
Don't care. What good is a convicted drug user/dealer carrying a firearm wandering around society?

The reality is that your issue isn't with the law; your issue with with ADAs cutting deals
My first post took issue with the entire system as being too lenient. ADAs as well, as I know they are apt to take the path of lease resistance in many cases.

For me, many is hundreds, maybe over a thousand.

It always cracks me up that they are literally called blunt wraps right there on the packaging.

Nice subtlety there

Lived in Baton Rouge for 20 years and just moved to madisonville because of these exact things.

Shooting was in the shopping center across from where the old shoppers choice is (next to Chimes) Shooting was a carry over from an arguments at a “club”. There’s a super sketchy vape shop in that shopping center (Vegas Vape) I think. The kid who runs it is 19 years old and says he can stay open 24 hours because he doesn’t sell alcohol. It attracts a lot of sketchy folk and culcha. Three people were shot, one in critical condition the other two in stable condition. The shooting started at the Carpet store next door and carried over to the vape shop. There were puddles of blood outside the vape shop were one of the victims collapsed. They need to shut that place down or it’s going to continue to happen.

This actually makes more sense than the original story. That shitty shopping center is horrible for that otherwise good stretch of Coursey.

I had planned to go to Costco on Airline to get a few pork shoulders to smoke. I’ll just stay in The AP and go to Winn Dixie.

I'm in that area every day, granted not at 3am. I just stay out of Southpark but otherwise have never had any trouble around there.

Then you’re right; we likely won’t be able to find common ground. I believe that fundamental rights shouldn’t be stripped from people simply because the nanny state decides that they shouldn’t have done something. Whether it’s the prohibition of alcohol or the prohibition of drugs, victimless crimes are victimless crimes to me. So if you’re good with locking people in cages for decades after exercising a fundamental right after being convicted of a victimless crime, we are on entirely different wavelengths

South Park is bad, but pretty much all of Coursey is very safe if you’re a normal person not looking to settle bullshite drama at 3AM.

That shopping center just has some horrible stores in it.

Sherwood Acres is reasonably shady now too but I have no reason to go back there. It's not as bad as Southpark though.

He said we have a racist mayor. The other part about judges I agree with. In fact, that is the biggest problem. Several years ago a single woman and her daughter, living in Spanish Town, were attacked and the mother killed, by some worthless frick who should have been in jail, but instead was told to do something nice like mow a neighbor's yard..

I am just saying if the mayor is racist, that has not contributed to an existing problem.

Not sure if this matters, but I am not sure if she is racist or just catering to her voters. She actually went to school that was opened by Pat Robertson. Regent University. You can't get more conservative than that.

I think your brain is more malformed than your legs.

He’s saying that our shite for brains mayor, in her misguided attempt to appease the leeches that got her elected, is exacerbating the problem by attacking and neutering our police force. The less the screws are put to these worthless thugs the bolder they get and the more the cancer spreads.

Thus the jackson 2 comment.

No one said that crime didn’t exist before Mayor Broome.

But she sure as shite isn’t doing anything to stop the spread of the rot, only encouraging it
