Can you imagine this? Seeing your beautiful little girl being born, holding her, rocking her, teaching her how to ride a bike. Her first daddy/daughter dance.

Watching her grow into a smart, beautiful young woman. Dreams of walking her down the aisle at her wedding, watching her graduate college, start a family of her own. Playing with your new grandkids.

Nah, not today says a drunk piece of shite.

100%

The judicial system takes some blame in this tragedy

It’s the whole system that is a joke. Murderers walk free while nonviolent offenders get locked up. They put a kid on trial where it was painfully clear on video it was self defense and they tried to lie and ruin his life.

The ONLY Justice you get is the Justice you take. Look at Gary Plauche.

I say we just start leaving these fricks tied up in some location and letting nature sort it out.

It is, and I have a DWI from 1994. Still feel guilty about it, actually knew the cop who pulled me over. I’m actually grateful, had another 2 miles on a highway before being at gf (at the time) house. Had an entire 1/5 of Jack in my system. Driving 20 mph riding the ditch in a 55 speed zone.

Thankfully it was late at night but could have been a disaster for someone else, or myself, someone else more importantly. I didn’t drink for 10 years after. I do a 1 drink every 2 hour rule now, just to be sure, but only will drink at nice sit down restaurants I know we will be at for awhile

Yeah. They need to get together and make him vanish. I seriously doubt he’ll be missed.

Damn man, glad you saw the light. I was lucky enough to not get a DUI but haven't done it since I was 20. I don't drink unless I'm home or have a ride home planned ahead of time. It's completely avoidable.

If he's anything like the pieces of shite similar to him that I know personally, his own family, or the few remaining that haven't disowned him, would probably be glad to no longer have to deal with him.

Having kids starting to drive terrified me. I still have 1 more coming up soon. 3 are now driving

And he bonded out. Fricking INSANE.
2nd DUI should result in no bail.
You are a safety risk to the public.
Victims of multiple DUI criminals should be able to sue the courts that free these idiots. Do they want vigilante justice?

The drunk guy who wasn't even using a seat belt survives with minor injuries.

Unbelievable.

I have this theory that drunk people in accidents have less control of their bodies during an accident and therefore cannot sufficiently brace or anticipate the upcoming impact leading to less severe injuries.

To be more on point with the thread, as I’ve gotten older I do not drink and drive like i used to. My friends and I were lucky to not have ended up in a situation like this and I’m thankful for that. As Uber becomes more available further from Baton Rouge we use it as much as possible. The cost of the Uber and time to go pick the car up in the morning far outweighs the risk of an accident.

Omg. I can’t even imagine. Dear Lord. My daughter is a college freshman. This just knocks me to my knees. Prayers to all family and friends.

I hope this is just worded poorly because it's written like this is, or used to be, a regular thing.

As a paramedic I believe there’s some truth here. Same with texting and driving not realizing you’re about to hit someone. Drunk or texting drivers seem to survive much more likely than who they hit. I guess they are relaxed state or have no idea of impending impact and don’t brace for it

Why would anyone bail him out?
Shows total disrespect for the victims and their families.

I was blindsided by a drunk driver while parked..had no idea what hit me. Flipped several times and ended up upside down in a ditch...came out with no bruises or cuts..just needed a back and shoulder surgery. Doc said me being completely unaware probably saved me
