Good point. I need to look at the numbers. She's taking spring semester off then she'll have the summer so I have a year, but need to get ready

The more important question is what do you do for a living because if she is a teacher, it sounds to me like she should stay home with the babies at least for a while. You may need to find a new career. Diapers for 2 aren't cheap. I am trying to get one of them potty trained before #3 gets here.

What are you doing marinating with a 15 mo old? Should've been pulling out like a mofo.

A two year age difference in kids seems about perfect to me

With 3 young ones, look for a nanny. And by nanny, I mean family friend who doesn't work who likes kids and wouldn't mind sitting at your house 5 days a week minus holidays since the wife is a teacher for $250-$300 a week. Provide food. You'd be surprised how many folks will do this.

Hopefully you have family nearby that can occasionally help out and give you and the Mrs.a much needed nite out from time to time. The first year with twins is a challenge but so amazing to witness the bond that developes and how completely different they can be.

Congrats! It's going to be great! Take it one day at a time. Ask for help from family when they are born. You'll make it work financially.

You're in pretty much the exact same situation as my parents (I was just over 2 when they had twins). They survived.

Not quite the same but I'm dealing with 2 under 2 right now (20 months and 7 months - first one was IVF so we figured we would have issues again - false.). It is rough. They never sleep at the same time and its a huge ordeal to go anywhere. Sleep training is hard because "Cry it out" results in my whole house being awake and mad. Just plan on not leaving the house very much and being tired all the time.

Edit: Agree with the posts above to look into whether it even makes sense for your wife to go back to work. We were going to be netting single digits per hour from her job...

Congratulations. Relax. My wife and I have two sets of twins and all I can tell you is it can be done. The good thing is as they grow they play together.

That's what is stressing me out. She's a teacher so after day care she wouldn't bring in much extra. Being sole provider for wife and 3 kids is terrifying

He feeds the sparrows, brother.

What do you have to fear?

Both our parents live 30 min or so away so we our fortunate there. We currently pay a nanny $190 a week which is fine. She's only 25 so I don't know how much longer she'll be available more she moves on with her life but if she stays I'm hoping to keep her for maybe $450 for all 3

Sperm or egg donor, depending which person in the relationship was having the fertility issues.

Obviously we are excited but I am scared to death, especially when thinking about day care costs for three kids

Are your parents or inlaws retried? Move closer to them. End of daycare costs.

Do your inlaws suck? Choose a better wife.

The girl will be fine. Being that close in age, the boys will have many, many knock down drag outs.

My 3 are all teens ranging from 16 -19 years now. I made it through.

My advice: love, patience, and Alcohol

Good luck

Not really if he is their father from the start and raises those kids he is their dad and not the sperm donor. Too many sperm donors out there and not enough good dads.

Actually they're pretty cool. My dad is retired so he's gonna help out as much as an old Submariner can

Not really. Some people aren't lucky enough to be fertile, so they have to resort to other options.
