Which is my fricking point. I'm saying it's only valid in my experience, and in no way is that indicative of how it is on a bigger scale. In my experience means just that: only applicable to people I've encountered.

No, not at all. I don't claim to have been in WW2 or lived through the Great Depression. However, people very, very, close to me did and, as I've gotten older, I have a greater appreciation of what they went through. My life was fairly easy compared to theirs, but my parents would have whipped my arse had I complained about many of the "stressors" on that silly list.

Life is more stressful because we have more bills to pay and basic services cost 100x more than they did 20-30 years ago.
