Weird, I read that in an NBC Dateline voice in my head.

Why didn’t the dad use his sons cellphone to call 911. The son used it to call his dad...why wouldn’t dad use it to call 911.

Judd said the scene area was “about as far out in the woods as you can get.”
I literally live about 200 yards outside of city limits of 35K population and barely get a signal here.

Three guys get killed.
No one -
ABSOLUTELY NO ONE AT ALL -
Some Ole Miss guy - Well maybe they were gay!

Wonder if they were "fishing" on Boaty McBoatface?

All three look a little methy.
I think there's a little more to this story...

Odds that this is drug related?
High. Possible female or money (see quote) related.
Just like the seven people killed in rural north AL a few weeks ago.

0.0% chance the dad leaves the kid there to die alone, right? Was he too heavy to move? I don’t get that part at all.
My guess is the kid was already very obviously dead, but the cops made up the story of him talking to his father to try to spook the criminals. I can only guess the girl was the kid's girlfriend and they didn't want to say that.

No, and that's not what I was insinuating, but I'm terribly sorry thats the conclusion you came to. I'm saying many older dads 60+ probably don't know that you can call 911 from a phone with a code.

Press and hold the side button and one of the Volume buttons until the Emergency SOS slider appears. Drag the Emergency SOS slider to call emergency services. If you continue to hold down the side button and Volume button, instead of dragging the slider, a countdown begins and an alert sounds.
I butt-called 911 this way, having my phone in my pocket while driving. The phone announces a 5-second countdown before calling 911.
It’s impossible to get your phone out of your pocket and then stop the call in 5 seconds. Especially while driving. The 911 operator was not happy with me.

At the very least, the guy talked to his dad on the phone before dying.

Probably not thinking straight either

Right, I meant at the scene - it would explain why the father left him there.

Maybe, but the son was 27 and she was 17 so that's creepy too. The other two guys were 23 & 30.

Word is all 3 had covid, so added to Florida’s numbers for Friday.

Unless I picked the wrong lake, Sheriff Judd apparently doesn't know his own community very well. The entire Lake Streety Road is only 2 miles long and the lake is less than a mile from the highway. And that's farm land for the most part.
