I know it's like a 1 in a billion chance of this sort of thing ever happening. But if I was the surviving boyfriend, I'd be paranoid of walking directly below buildings. I probably wouldn't be able to walk without constantly looking in the sky.

Assault Jumping has got to be dealt with in a big way. Background checks need to be implemented.

To be fair, I doubt anyone was down below when he looked

For my job, I have gotten a chance to talk to a number of the 'negotiators' that work mostly for the police departments (but some are sheriff, fire or EMS). The level of despair that these people arrive at, and determine that this option is the better one, is really hard to wrap your head around.

Think of your most embarrassing incident, and on THAT same day you got fired, dumped, humiliated, bet $10,000 and lost, got evicted, etc... and multiply that by 100 and you might be somewhere near the ballpark of what goes on in the mind of a suicidal person.

We make jokes but dam had 1 person stopped her in that restaurant for 3 seconds she would be alive. Just crazy the time it toke for this guy to committ to jumping and the exact moment this woman walked out of the building. Is it possible this guy wanted to kill someone along with himself?

Dtown San Diego is a shitehole

3.2 million people live in San Diego. You're basing your opinion of the city on the actions of 2 stories involving 2 people?

I get it, but we all are becoming friggin stupid with the way we think about things.

fricking a-hole. If you’re going to commit suicide, do it like a man, put a gun in your mouth, and be done with it. Don’t take out any innocent people with you. I won’t ever forget being 2 hours late to a job interview because some a-hole jumped from on top of the 635, killed a woman, and caused a 40 car pile up. fricking prick, hope he’s burning in hell for that. Thankfully my interviewer was also 2 hours late to work because of that so he understood and was pissed at that guy as well.
