Taylor Kahle, 29, was killed in a freak accident when a suicidal man who jumped from a building landed on her as she unknowingly walked below.

According to a San Diego County medical examiner’s report, Kahle died of ‘multiple blunt force injuries.”

The decedent was an unidentified adult male who appears to be approximately 20-30 years old. On the evening hours of 04/25/2021, the decedent was observed entering a parking structure on 10th Avenue and J Street in downtown San Diego. He was then seen hanging from the outside railing of the ninth floor balcony of the structure. He fell to the ground and onto a passerby who was walking on the sidewalk below. SDPD Officers who were nearby pulled over to assist. Paramedics responded to the scene and transported the decedent to UCSD Medical Center. Despite lifesaving efforts, the decedent died at the hospital. The female walking by on the sidewalk, was pronounced dead at the scene.

NBC San Diego reported: “Kahle, 29, had gone to dinner on Sunday night at Basic Bar & Pizza on 10th Avenue in downtown San Diego, out on a third date with a man she was getting to know.

The pair didn’t stay long at the restaurant. Security video obtained by NBC 7 showed them sitting at the bar, eating and talking.

The pair left just after 7:30 p.m., walking east on J Street before crossing over to the 400 block of 10th Avenue.

A few steps later – as the pair strolled on the sidewalk beneath a parking structure – San Diego police said a suicidal man jumped from the parking structure, landing on top of Kahle.”

Her date was not harmed.

Kahle was an only child and was just a week away from her 30th birthday. She leaves behind her father and two beloved rescue dogs, Roo and Stella.
