A 28-year-old man has been arrested on one count of second degree murder following the stabbing death of his father Friday morning, the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office said.
Deputies were called to a house in the Natchez Trace subdivision near Covington at about 6:15 a.m. to investigate a domestic disturbance. They found Jose Amaya, 58, lying in the driveway of a neighbor's house, bleeding heavily from multiple stab wounds. He was taken to an area hospital where he died, according a news release.
Detectives investigating the stabbing learned that Amaya's son, Juan Amaya, had gotten into a fight with his father during which he stabbed him, the news release said.

I saw they arrested two baws in Jefferson parish that had some Hispanic heritage and both lived on the nortshore.
Had no idea there was a population of them over there.

I was told by someone who knows the family that the kid was bipolar and pretty messed up.

Heard the dad was trying to help the son with something. Sounds pretty sad.

When it comes to the parents, he's still their kid.

Was friends with him at St. Paul’s. He was a nice guy but apparently had a mental break in college and was diagnosed bipolar recently. Really sad

White Perch has been looking for a house in that area. It appears one just became available.
What a lucky day.

Yeah, that's a tough pull as a parent.
