They did better back in the mid 80's when I was there.

They busted some Sheiks' kid back then for heroin. FBI walked up and warned him face to face, in public, about a month before they busted him and the idiot laughed it off. They already had him by then too. Used a laser beam to read the vibrations of a window pane to listen in to his conversations after they rented the house across the street from him.

He's dead now. After he was convicted they deported him. Reportedly a couple real rough looking security forces from his native country met the FBI on the tarmac and supposedly when the plane landed he was taken to the end of the runway and ended with a single pistol shot to the head.

The guy had like a pound of heroin, a couple pounds of weed, and some ounce or 2 of cocaine himself at the time of the bust.

Another American they caught, unrelated to the Arab but during same time period, got busted with 25 uncut sheets of blotter acid in his freezer. His roomie was back in school a couple years later but was on parole.
