A 24-year-old National Guardsman was gunned down in broad daylight while making a Doordash delivery Sunday (June 26) evening in the St. Roch neighborhood.

Sunday, just after 5 p.m., Raymond Hill III was running out to get supplies to barbecue for his family, when he accepted a quick Doordash order like he frequently would.

“I don’t know how him working turned into me burying my child,” Washington said.

Washington says police found 50 shell casings at the corner of St. Roch and North Miro. She says they believe it may have been a case of mistaken identity because a car with a description similar to his had been reported stolen that morning.

“I know when this happened to him he was terrified because he didn’t know why and who was doing it,” Washington said.

Seems odd to mention that he was in the National Guard if that had nothing to do with the crime.

Same reason everyone knows that Breonna Taylor was an EMT even though it had nothing to do with her killing.

Is this the attitude of NOLA residents? Just move on? To what? The next murder?
Stop ignoring how incredibly terrible your city is.
At least BR knows that its a complete hell hole.

Why do you say that ?
It shows he was serving his community while trying to make a living. Seems very honorable to me.

We should wall off new orleans from the rest of the world. There's nothing redeemable there.

You're just victim of the media's portrayal. I met a guy the other day who told me he was retiring after working over 20 years in the city. He was in New Orleans every day and was all over the city over the course of a month. He told me he never had a single problem.

I asked him what he did and he said he was a door gunner on a bread truck.
