DW is some quality stuff. You are going to pay a good penny for it but it's some quality stuff.

Here is your DVR for $380

cameras vary by model.

Again TW, my comment about the mark up stands.

This guy has a bad arse $800 system that he paid $3700 for. Of course that isn't a bad price, but a large system can be done for a great price if a contractor was willing to work with the city and not treat it like money bags.

The system is 3 years old. Each camera was $400 a piece. I have 2 monitors, one upstairs and one downstairs. It took the guy about 8 hours to install. I think I got a pretty good deal.

Of course prices have come down due to new models and newer technology.

Brah we ain't talking about putting a system in the Brothers food mart. The city just doesn't buy some bull shite off of newegg and go in get some installer off of Craigslist. I can point out all the crap in your orginal post on this subject to prove that you know just enough to get your self in trouble.

Based on what I read, a old iPhone strapped to a street sign at Bourbon and St Peter would be more effective than what NOPD and the city are doing right now.

The fact they don't have a system, fancy or not, on Bourbon is reprehensible in this day and age. Fact.

And I already stated why we don't have a working system in the city. And yes it sucks, but the more residents and business that need systems the better for me.

You didn't get a bad deal by any means. The equipment Napoleon posted would be broke after 3 years.

And just so you know I'm not blowing smoke here is a pic of my desk right now.

In the process of putting together a DW system for the sheriffs office.

Sorry, I'll stop. Hate to derail a 60+ page OT thread on NOLA crime.

Your comments are appreciated.

The OP is pretty played for now, anyway.

Justin Odom, the 20-year-old person of interest connected to the weekend mass shooting on Bourbon Street, isn't thought to have fired a shot, the WDSU I-Team has learned.

Sources tell the I-Team that Odom, who surrendered to police in Gretna shortly after he was named a person of interest by New Orleans detectives, was allegedly tied to the event in some capacity, but was not a triggerman.

"The fact that Mr. Odom was not arrested in connection with the shooting is not indicative of NOPD's case at all other than that the investigators are thoroughly and aggressively pursuing every possible lead. Mr. Odom was never suspected of taking any part in the shooting and the facts and evidence clearly demonstrate that."

This should be interesting. If he had any factual knowledge of the shooting and shooter, he might consider sleeping with his eyes wide open at this point.

That is actually a good price installed. I forgot about monitors and wires in that figure since many use TVs.

So the reason you shot down my idea, was because in the end it hurts your check book.

You know I spend at least an hour or two a day giving away free advice on forums anbd answering emails and my repair blog. Each of those people I help for free is at least an $80 potential customer. I could have made thousands just on the people from TD alone who emailed me.

But sometimes I actually prefer to help people than to line my pockets.

I'm happy with what I make now.
You could have put together a system or countered my posts, but you wouldn't because it could potentially hurt your bottom line.

common at JP. They release a lot of people every day for overcrowding.

TW - you're good people and I know we go back and forth, but I would gladly buy you a drink at Jazz Daquiris if you ever want to meet me there after work, or Finns, whichever has better parking.
