I had an acquaintance in the late 80's who lived on State St. He was a victim of a home invasion. The perp attacked his girlfriend and when he tried to defend her, they beat him in the head till he passed out. He tried to defend them with a bat and they overwhelmed him and used it on him. His girlfriend was raped and beaten while he lay there unconscious. BR has been bad for a long time.

You can laugh all you want. Crime was worse nationwide in the 80s. BR trended positively in the 90s and 00s... really was trending positively until Broome was elected, then a rapid descent. Of course there was still crime, but not like the last few years.
