I am all for TD doing something to keep this in people’s faces Something to publicly shame the current administration for allowing crime to run rampant
When the POS is caught hopefully someone smarter than me can pull their record & then we need to shame the judge & DA if they should have been in jail
Personally, this has risen to the equivalent outrage level as a cop shooting. Whomever has done this will get ratted out for the cash reward or for a promise of a reduced sentence for locating the trigger man
In that light, I think the shooter will turn himself in shortly (after he attempts to lawyer-up). That’s just my guess. It won’t be much longer.

It’s interesting that a thread titled

21 year old LSU student shot and killed on Government Street in Baton Rouge last night
Has resulted in you dragging it out with your rhetoric, blaming Trump for the economy and labeling those that disagree as having “Biden Derangement Syndrome”
Because it appears to be a clear case of TDS

I’m outraged as much as all of you and my heart aches for her parents, especially her dad. I have a two year old daughter and know the special, indescribable bond between a dad and his daughter. I just can’t imagine being in his and her mom’s position right now. For my sanity, I will be following this story from a distance because I just can’t stand it. I’m broken for her parents and it seriously hurts to read more about this.
As others have said, the city and state need to rise up and lead on offense instead of being reactive. Stop releasing statements and start leading by supporting police, enact policies that punish criminals with the maximum allowable the first time. They need to crack down in a major, shock & awe kind of way. They haven’t done so yet and because of it, Baton Rouge is lost. LSU is slipping away fast. Like many here, I do not want to send my kids to LSU when they’re older because the city has proven that it’s not concerned with fighting crime nor is it committed to ensuring it stays away from our universities (Southern is quite familiar with this stuff too).
I’m out now. I can’t bear to read more about this. This murder was just too random and too cold blooded.

Yeah parents can yell their college kids stuff like that but it won't do a bit of good half the time. My mom probably told me not to drive north of LSU at night thousands of times but I still did it. What a ridiculous take on this story
When we moved back from Texas, I gave my son a tour of LSU and taught them how to get around campus- shortcuts through parking lots to get to Highland, etc. I told them the following:
1. Never get a rental on State ST.
2 Never turn left when you are leaving Campus for any reason.
My oldest landed the midnight DJ spot three years in on Saturday nights at KLSU. He had to walk across campus at 2 am to parking by the stadium. After two shows, he got his brother involved and made the trek together. Fortunately, they were never hurt, but they told me it was not something anyone should do. It's very dark and you know at any point someone could hurt you. They were always safe, but I sat up every Saturday from 2-3 till they got home safely in St George.
This town is not safe. My sons are moving in a year. When they do, I am selling my home and moving to Montgomery Tx. I can not get out of here fast enough. My husband is a BR native and thinks I just want to move again- we transferred a lot in the past. If he does not pack up - he can stay here. I am done with this shithole.

I did this on the late 90s. I would not do this now.
I'm still over a decade away from my kiddo going to college and a lot can change, but I wouldn't encourage him to go to LSU currently.

Don't head North. You clearly don't know NBR.

And if you take a left while heading north you are truly fricked.

That does not make sense, They understood, I told them to never drive through the bad part of Highland.

People keep emphasizing that she was an LSU student which she was, but the truth is everyone is at risk. No one is safe.
We witness gang related hits at high noon on Bluebonnet by the Mall. We hear of four year old children slaughtered in their beds.
And yes we hear about LSU students being trapped and murdered.
What we don’t hear is our Mayor, our Police Chief, and out DA launching a task force to root out the gangs that are dominating the streets. We don’t hear about the Sheriff putting more units on patrol and going after street crime and criminals who roam through suburban neighborhoods looting.
People are outraged now as they should be, but it will die down until we see another child murdered or another young person murdered only to die out again. Unfortunately before long no one will care and it will be be business as usual abd heinous events like this will become routine.

Make fun of me all you will, but I hope you have a gun if you intend to stay here. Anyone who makes light of the situation in BR deserves all that happens to them if they do nothing to stop it, or better yet remain behind.
Someone's 21-year-old daughter was executed. As a Mom of a 21-year-old daughter, this needs to stop. ( NO PICS)

Send your kids to a nice college town, they'll have a much better experience, be around better people.
