I'm assuming this will be based on the recently released GX550?

Also curious how this slots in in the Toyota line up with the new Sequoia and the 4Runner which is also due for an update.

ETA: I've been staring at these pics trying to figure out if this is a seam in the body panel for a drop down tailgate like the older 4Runners had.

The 300 series for the rest of the world gets a 3.4l TT gas and 3.3l turbo diesel option so I think you can rule out a 2.4l coming to the US in the new LC.

Not that I was going to get one anyway but kinda sucks they are on a smaller platform for this US spec LC. It's baller to have a monster sized suv that is also way more capable than the average consumer vehicle.

Is this is really it or something cobbled together? If it is really it, it should go back to partial pics.

I have a 2021 4Runner TRD OR-P and a Land Cruiser might be one of a couple of vehicles would trade it for. I really like the new Lexus GX and will probably get one in 7-8 years. But if the Land Cruiser is a knockout, I will go that direction.

After seeing the new Tundra and Sequoia SUV, I am not confident in Toyota’s design team.

The teaser images aren’t showing much, but honestly I don’t like what I see. I think this will be more like the FJ Cruiser in the styling department. Meaning it’s going to be cool, but will probably look like a cartoonish retro mobile. I am too old for that kind of car.

I guess for me the LC would have to be somewhat restrained in styling but not boring. I’m confident that Toyota will nail the off road hardware and the durability part of the equation. Definitely waiting to see it in person.

Is this really it? They're bringing the Prado to the US?

I truly feel sorry for the Catholic/Episcopal school moms that will have to settle for this instead of getting the new Lexus GX
