Y'all are making first year cars out to be way worse than they are.
There could be some issues, but they aren't lemons.
Seriously. This isn’t some startup car company.

I would wait a few years and look at them on the used market.
Not everyone wants a used vehicle, especially one designed for off-road.

How do you plan to negotiate the price before committing?
By buying from a dealer that I know and trust.
What a strange first post.

I have a first year vehicle from Chrysler. Other than a design flaw of putting an underpowered engine in there are no issues. They didn't correct that problem for 5 years though.
And that is Chrysler.

This. I saw a used 2020 corvette sell on Facebook for 20k over sticker price. I don't understand people.

Granger Ford is $2000 off invoice. Look them up on the Bronco forums

Dont compare a 1980's American car to modern day. Quality, both initial and longterm, has vastly increased.

Yep. You can probably get a little negotiating discount for $1-3k after Ford goes up on the Bronco price by $5k for the ‘22 or ‘23 models.
If you want the Bronco, go get it and there are dealers offering MSRP without markup.
There’s probably going to be some minor issues, but the power train of the Bronco is tried and true on other Ford trucks and SUVs. The 2.7L has been used on the F150s and has received very solid reviews.

Why would anyone buy the first model year of a vehicle ? Let them figure out the problems and fix them.
The engine in the Bronco has been used for several years already. Ford seldom fixes what turns out to be problem with the 1st year model anyway. See 5.4 engine 2004-2008

“We had us a deal here for nine-teen-five. You sat there and darned if you didn't tell me you'd get this car, these options, without the sealant, for nine-teen-five!”
You will have to pay for the TruCoat!

I will be waiting 2-3 years, but I am getting one. I really like the look. My BIL is getting one of the Limited's but he has a Ford collection.

This reminds me of when my Dad went to the Mazda place in Monroe the year they came out with the RX-7. I think it was Lee Edwards.
Anyway, the old man tells my 12 year old self, "come on son, you need to learn how to negotiate with these people."
The sales guy throws out the price and the old man counters. The sales guy says these exact words, and I know they are exact because they were seared into my brain.
Sir, do you see the people standing outside my office? They're waiting to buy your car. If you don't have the money for the asking price, I would ask that you please allow me to meet with my next buyers.
They were that popular.

I bought one of the first Gladiators in Louisiana last year. Bought it in Jackson, Mississippi (area) and paid to have it shipped to SWLA as an anniversary present to my wife.
Willingly, got fricked on the price, unknowingly got fricked by the wife(separated) who’s still driving it.
